One mask? Maybe more…

There comes a time when we realize

We are constantly forced by society to wear masks: we post our most beautiful pictures on social media to show our friends the wonderful life we live, we buy new clothes to keep up with the latest trends, we smile when we have our souls torn apart and so on and so forth. We got so used to faking our lives that the moment when reality strikes back we simply don’t know how to react and we feel miserable because we lost the real person we once were!

Staying strong doesn’t always mean to smile when you are hurt! Staying strong is being true to yourself and working hard to design that perfect life for you, regardless what others think!

We are all unique human beings! There is no common pattern or a standardized man or woman. Each and every one of us has its own qualities and flaws and those are the pieces that bring together our individuality. We need to accept who we are and find a way to become the best version of ourselves!

Even though I know all this, there are times that I’m confused. Have I truly found myself?

“We all wear masks and the time comes when we cannot remove them without removing some of our own skin!” (A. Berthiaume)

It only took her a moment to answer to the question she wrote. Once she looked in the mirror, she could see who she was. The only problem was that she didn’t know how to handle herself.

One body, one face, maybe one mask… But no! There where lots of them!

A multifaceted personality brought to life by the masks she wore consciously or unconsciously. Right and wrong, light and darkness, just like in every other human being, with a drip of  “something else” hidden in her eyes. It was that Something she never knew how to react to or how to name it!

Her feelings seemed to mingle with the light coming through the window.

Closing her eyes wasn’t much of a help! The glow never faded away and this time wasn’t going to be any different! Facing her own reflexion in the mirror at night scared the hell out of her because of the power that her eyes had! It was like someone else was trapped inside her, desperately wanting to come out!

A face, a mask, a desire… She needed to know more!
